Miami Dolphins trade Jay Ajayi to Philadelphia Eagles

October 31, 2017

The Miami Dolphins have traded Jay Ajayi running back to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth round draft pick in the NFL draft.

This news came in just hours after the New England Patriots sent Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers.

On the season, Ajayi has 465 yards on 138 carries. He has no touchdowns yet, but he’s coming off a Pro Bowl season. With Jay Cutler playing as terrible as ever and the offense sputtering at best this season without quarterback Ryan Tannehill who is on IR it's been tough for Jay Ajayi as teams load the box on him.

Ajayi is signed through 2018 on a four-year, $2.5 million deal, a bargain for his production. He’ll provide an instant jolt to an offense that ranks fifth in the NFL in rushing offense at 129.3 yards per game, but only tied for 20th in rushing touchdowns with four.

The NFC’s frontrunner is going all-in. Your move, Dallas and Seattle. It will be interesting to see what moves the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks might make. Just before the Seahawks vs Texans games it was rumored that tight end Jimmy Graham might be traded to the Texans but that never came to fruition.
